The Foundry Katana 2.6 v3 is available for download in Softwares Guide. With its highly efficient and collaborative approach to look at development and lighting, Katana offers you the creative scope and scalability to meet the needs of the most demanding CG rendering projects. The Foundry Katana 2.6 includes multiple UI and UX enhancements, as well as significant progress towards the new API based on Hydra Viewer and Viewer.
The Foundry Katana 2 now includes an API to create 3D viewers with support for the integration of 3D graphics technology (custom) with the Katana user interface. This API is being used by Foundry to develop a new built-in 3D viewer, which is programmed to be sent in a future version of Katana.
The Foundry Katana 2.6 with crack
Customers can use the Viewer API to integrate their own viewer technology into The Foundry Katana 2.6 if they wish. See the KATANA Viewer API Starter Guide: Getting Started Guide for a technical description of the new Viewer API.
Viewers based on the new Viewer API benefit from a mechanism that protects against outdated location events by using a manipulator (generally seen as a geometry that alternates between new and old transformations). The Viewer API suspends processing of Geolib location events during manipulation, and until any resulting node graph changes are processed.
The features of the Foundry Katana 2.6 version 3:
Important steps towards our new Viewer and API: Significant progress has been made towards the new Hydra-based Viewer through a new custom Viewer API, which will allow pre-built custom users to connect to Katana. It is expected that both the new viewer and the final API of the viewer will be fully operational in a future version.
An option for more pipes: Katana® 2.5 brings the last chapter of our lighting tool and appearance development for Windows. In addition, Katana 2.5 is easier to install and offers a wide range of compatible add-ons, including RenderMan, V-Ray, Arnold and 3Delight.
UI and UX improvements: the work of The Foundry Katana 2.6 started in 2016, with more UI and UX improvements that make it easier to use, even for those who collect the toolset for the first time. We’ve made dozens of tuning improvements to streamline repetitive tasks and free up time to be creative.
Improved technical documents: Katana 2.6 comes with improved technical documentation, which allows you to make custom tools and obtain techniques with shaders and UI parameters more easily.
Choose your processor: use the processor of your choice, with a unified workflow for Renderman, V-Ray, Arnold and 3Delight, or add your own renderer. You can even work with multiple renderers while maintaining a consistent artist workflow.
Keep your assets accessible: the agile and friendly approach to the Foundry Katana 2.6 artist eliminates the need to convert assets into ready-to-render formats, keeping them easily accessible for last-minute changes.
Reduce artists’ downtime: the most valuable resource of a studio is its people. Katana’s deferred loading and processing process let you get to work immediately, so you can spend more time on creativity and less time to move your thumbs.
Floating and color ramp widgets: Easily select a range of colors or greyscale values in floating point to use as input to a shader or light with an intuitive visual user interface that offers a more friendly looking development experience with the artist that in previous versions.
Work in parallel to finish faster: with the Katana Look files, material instructions and texture map assignments are packaged as separate assets, so you can separately update the look and animation development data.
Share the workload: Flexible workflows based on rules and graphics from Katana nodes allow you to naturally create templates while you work, which you can then easily share with other team members or reuse in other shots.
Gaffer Three light filter holders: it is now possible to add light filters, such as barn doors, blockers or gobos that stop or reduce the effect of a light for certain parts of the scene, directly to the lights in Gaffer Three nodes, the Katana’s default lighting tool, streamlining the workflow and reducing the complexity of the nodes.
